If you are on a waiting list and cannot wait any longer, you may be able to apply for a new passport by mail.

If you do not cancel your appointment by the scheduled cancellation date, the passport office will attempt to contact you by telephone. If you do not respond to the telephone call or if you fail to appear at the appointment, your passport application will be processed and a new application fee will be required.
