Cameroon Passport Renewal In USA- Cost & How To Apply

The application process for a Cameroon passport renewal in the United States, like that in other nations, has been streamlined to speed up the application process.

There are essentially three stages to this procedure:

Online registration in advance through the passcam.cm website.

Registration must be done in person at the Cameroon Embassy in Washington, DC.

The process of obtaining your passport back.

Here, we’ll break down all three of those stages so you can apply them with confidence.

Cameroon Passport Renewal In USA- Cost & How To Apply

FIRST STEP: Register in advance through the website gateway.

Start the process of applying for a passport by opening a web browser on your phone or computer, entering https://www.passcam.cm in the address bar, and then following the on-screen instructions. The following is a required field for your submission.

Provide the requested information about yourself in the online form. As a final precaution, check your information for errors before sending it in.

Note A Note on the Cameroonian Passport (CNI or NIC), At this point, you’ll be prompted for details from your Cameroonian NIC; if you don’t have one, don’t worry—just choose “Blank” from the NIC drop-down menu to move on.

The passport fee of 110,000 CFA francs must be paid online. We welcome the following payment options: Yoomee, MTN Mobile Money, Orange Money, Yup, Express Union, and debit/credit cards.

If you are having issues completing an online payment with your debit or credit card (for example, if the transaction is getting refused), you should CONTACT YOUR BANK FIRST to make sure they are not obstructing the transaction. Please contact the enrollment portal’s Customer Service via email at contact@passcam.cm if you are unable to resolve the issue with your bank.

Payment confirmations are automatically generated after a successful transaction. Keep this receipt for your records, and then go back to the appointment scheduling website by clicking the relevant link. If you are not sent directly to the page where you can schedule an appointment online, please go back to the portal’s home page (https://www.passcam.cm) and log in again using the same information (mobile phone number or email address) as before.

Where in the United States can I find the Cameroon Embassy?

EMBASSY OF THE REPUBLIC OF

CAMEROON

Telephone: (202) 265-8790

Fax: (202) 387-3826

Email: cs@cameroonembassyusa.org

AMBASSADE DE LA REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN

2349 Massachusetts Avenue N.W.

Washington, DC 20008

Schedule a time and day that works best for you to come in for a physical enrollment. To prepare for your enrollment appointment, please schedule it via the portal, then either download and print the pre-registration application form or access your email account to print it (See passport application checklist).

Make sure you enroll at the proper physical location. You must select a physical enrollment place, and the Cameroon Embassy in Washington, DC is a great option. Your confirmation email will provide you with the same information.

If you accidentally schedule your appointment at a different location, the personnel at the Embassy in DC will be unable to receive you since they will lack the necessary information to verify your enrolment.

Appointments can be set up by applicants themselves online. The Consular Section is unable to take care of this for you.

In what ways may I change the date of my Cameroon passport appointment?

You can contact Customer Service by sending an email to contact@passcam.cm if you need to reschedule your appointment to a different date/time/location than what was originally scheduled. Remember to choose the correct location while scheduling your appointment.

If you have a query that wasn’t answered here, please send an email to contact@passcam.cm.

STEP 2 Physical enrollment at the Embassy of Cameroon in Washington, DC.

Prepare thoroughly for this stage. The process at the embassy may take roughly 3-4 HOURS.

Please attend at the specified date and time to the Embassy of Cameroon in Washington, DC, located at 2349 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20008.

Please provide both original and copies of all essential documents to complete your application. Your appointment may need to be rescheduled if further information is needed to complete your file. There is no way to begin the enrollment procedure and then finish it at a later date, nor is it possible to enroll in person with an unfinished file.

Once an employee is satisfied that the application packet is complete, they will initiate enrollment in the digital platform.

Before the electronic submission of the applicant’s photo and biometrics (height and fingerprint) to Yaoundé for processing, the applicant must verify the accuracy of the information.

The applicant will be alerted through text message and/or email as soon as a decision is made regarding their application. If that’s the case, applicants can find more information about the problem and their potential remedies by sending an email to contact@passcam.cm. If there is no refusal, the replacement passport is manufactured within 48 hours in Yaoundé, and thereafter transmitted to the Embassy in Washington, DC a few weeks later.

STEP3: Getting your Cameroon passport in the United States

Once the new passport arrives at the Embassy in Washington, DC, it is electronically activated and the beneficiary is notified by text message and/or email. Until further notice, the passport can only be picked up by mail. (See the notice below for more information about picking up your new Cameroon passport in the USA by mail.

It is strongly recommended that new passport recipients take immediate action after receiving the email/text message notification to get their new passport. Passports not picked up within 6 months of issuance are sent back to Cameroon. For retrieval of your passport, you must make arrangements with the Frontier Police.

How long does it take to get a Cameroon passport in the United States?

Passports for Cameroon are not printed in the nation’s capital, but rather in Yaoundé. Assuming a person’s physical enrollment goes smoothly, they should expect to wait around 2 months for their new passport to arrive in Washington, DC.

Keeping the timeline in mind, here are some things to avoid:

When getting a passport renewed, it’s best to wait to book flights or finalize other travel plans until you have the new passport in hand.

Cameroonian passports must be picked up at the enrolling center. A new passport is not valid for travel until its electronic activation has been completed at an enrollment center. The recipient will be notified by email or text message after activation has been completed. Because of this, a third party cannot pick up your passport in Cameroon if you applied at the Cameroonian Embassy in Washington, DC; instead, you should apply for a Cameroonian Travel Document (Laissez-Passer), which will allow you to travel ONLY TO CAMEROON.

Prior to departing for the United States or your home country, you will need to renew your passport there. Keep in mind that obtaining a passport in Yaounde just takes two days.

Citizens of Cameroon residing in the countries under the authority of the Cameroon Embassy in Washington, DC (the United States, Mexico, Costa Rica, and the Bahamas) must apply for a biometric passport at the embassy.

Citizens of Cameroon who wish to use the Embassy’s services are reminded that, under local law, they are permitted to carry only a single passport at any given time.

Please be informed that the Cameroon Embassy will not process requests for passport extensions, only requests for new Biometric Passport issuance or renewal, upon completion of which the applicant will be issued a new passport booklet.

Applicants for passports must be present in person to enroll in the system. Incomplete applications received through email or regular mail will be ignored. This procedure, which includes identifying the applicant and obtaining biometric features such as pictures, fingerprints, and height, is time-consuming and requires applicants of all ages to arrange an appointment online before visiting the embassy in person. Minors (those who will be under 21 years old at the time of the appointment) must have a parent or legal guardian present at the Embassy with them.

Entrance to the Embassy is restricted to those who have properly registered. Except in the case of a juvenile or a disabled person, no one else who is not part of the application process will be allowed inside.

The Embassy does not permit the use of any type of oversized or travel bag.
