There will be a prompt to pay the visa fee after you’ve answered the questions. The “interview waiver Letter” should be printed and included in your mailed visa application if you are qualified to apply for a visa without an interview.

Step 4

Get together your passports (current and prior), a photo, a letter detailing your trip’s purpose and itinerary, and the DS-160 confirmation page. An additional paperwork and a reciprocity fee might be necessary, depending on the type of visa you’re applying for. For a complete list of supporting materials needed to apply for a visa, please visit the page for your specific visa category.

Step 5

Gather your paperwork, including the needed interview waiver appointment letter, an envelope, and your originals. You’ll get a receipt that includes a tracking number. Gather your essential materials, including the Application Drop-Off Letter, and a stamped, self-addressed envelope. You’ll get a confirmation receipt that includes your tracking information.

Step 6

Your paperwork will be delivered by courier to the American Embassy.

Step 7

Following completion of the visa adjudication process, your passport and supporting documents will be returned to you at the document delivery address listed in your profile. You’ll get an email with a tracking number as soon as we send off your paperwork. Accessing your profile is the key to updating the shipping information. Your visa, if any, will be stamped into your passport.

Please be aware that visa issuance cannot be assured if you use the mail-in service. An in-person visa interview may be necessary for some instances. Unfinished or incorrect applications are an example of this.
